Since 1 August 2012, Colonel doc. Ing. Libor Dražan, CSc, has been appointed the Dean of the Faculty of Military Technology, regularly elected for the position by FMT Academic Senate during its meeting on 23 May 2012. Colonel Dražan’s academic career started in the position of lecturer, continued in senior lecturer, team leader through Radar Department head at then Military Academy of Brno. In the period 2005 to 2012 he was appointed vice-dean of the Faculty of Military Technology of the University of Defence responsible for concept and development, later for external relations and development. In 1998 he defended his dissertation thesis to be conferred the degree of the Candidate of Engineering Sciences in Military Electrical Technology. Based on his successful habilitation proceeding he was conferred associate professor degree in Military Electrical Technology in 2008. His teaching activities concentrate on the issues of active and passive radar technology and electronic warfare. He focuses his research effort on finding solutions for the challenges related to electromagnetic weapon engagement and design in radio and/or micro wave ranges.
