The academic ground of the University of Defence hosts an international course of host nation support and logistics reconnaissance in the period from 18 to 29 June 2012. Arranged by the Faculty of Economics and Management’s Logistics Department, course syllabus has been completed with lecture at ČD Cargo Company for the trainees to learn of container terminal traffic and control centre operation.
Also, as a part of the course the trainees visit in their second week the Disposable Materiel Base in Štěpánov to learn of base’s principle mission, particularly the responsibilities in materiel acceptance, collecting, movement and integration processes. Once back from the logistics reconnaissance field trip in Štěpánov the trainees elaborate commander’s order articles on host nation support and logistics reconnaissance output processing.
When asked of what he thank of course syllabus and general quality, lieutenant colonel Robert Gjakovikj, one of the course trainees answered: "For me, both the lectures and lecturers are a nice surprise. I hope I can apply what I have learnt here to my work in the following international exercises. And I should also mention that the support by the University of Defence is at a very high level."
The Host Nation Support (HNS) course is intended for the countries involved in Partnership for Peace Programme. It focuses on mastering the directives of the complete planning processes. Participants in this course come from Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and from Monte Negro.
