The shoppers and visitors of the Brno Vankovka shopping gallery will get a unique opportunity to see numerous interesting and various activities, all of them under University's of Defence umbrella. One thing is sure: nobody will be bored on University of Defence days in Vankovka gallery that take place on 18 till 24 January 2010.
The events in Vankovka Gallery will start on 18 January by opening two exhibitions: one showing a collection of interesting photographs taken at overseas military missions called "Czech missions" and the other presenting the Czech Army uniforms. Those who are interested in the studies at the University of Defence will be able to visit the information stand manned by University staff and students and learn all necessary and practical information including studies offered by the University of Defence in the academic year 2010/2011, admission procedure terms and conditions, course of studies and job possibilities after concluding either military or civilian fields of study.
Besides, those who come to Vankovka Gallery on the weekend days 22 to 24 January will be given the chance to look behind the scene of research work done by both academic staff and students of University of Defence faculties, such as bread or pastry baking procedures developed for usage in multinational operations including a historic baking demonstration with the KPN military field oven, or the information technologies being developed for the "21st Century Soldier" project components, or DATAcom mobile post intended for crisis management, or personal protective equipment against mass destruction weapons effects.
At least the same attention will be paid to the demonstrations of small arms fielded in the Czech Army, of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles, air force simulations in MAK simulation environment or robotic systems. Interaction will be able by shooting a laser pistol, testing physical fitness with a rowing machine or exercise bikes, by engaging in rope activities or by trying a resuscitation training to renew the basic vital functions. The faculties will offer the presentations between 10 AM and 8 PM.
The spectators will definitely find the action shows of the COMMANDOS team and MUSADO MCS military martial arts group of University of Defence student very attractive. Performances given by the famous folk music, singing and dancing military ensemble ONDRÁŠ will pour even more additives to the already rich mixture presenting the minor features series called "Through the Regions" with the support of art bodies of the University of Defence Club, i.e. TAK JO amateur theatre club performing a fairytale for children, JÁNOŠÍČEK children folk dance body and LUČINA folk music and singing group.
