In the penultimate week of September 2010 took place at the University of Defence International course on issues of procurement and contracting within the Department of Defense. The course was organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Defence in close cooperation with the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA.

Course was attended by selected representatives of the ministries involved in national defense programs, NATO Partnership for Peace and Mediterranean Dialogue. Participants came from Armenia, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine. Course is also attended by experts from Poland and the Czech Republic. The team of trainers was formed by experts from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Defence.
Participants will have an opportunity to become familiar with the issue of acquisition processes and the specifics of public sector management. Attention was also paid to the proper procedures for purchasing, planning, problems of market research, identifying appropriate resources and their effective use. The course was also created space for professional discussion and sharing of practical experience and knowledge among a team of instructors and participants.
